As Bobby and I were driving out of our condo complex last night, we heard the shrill screams of a terrified woman. We then saw a woman sprinting across the parking lot towards her building, followed by a child who appeared to be her young son. Chasing after the two of them was a small gray squirrel.
A squirrel.
I don’t know what was more ridiculous; that she was fleeing from an animal that I could easily fight off with two fingers, or that she ran screaming and left her child behind. Not surprisingly, nobody was injured.
I have a cousin who’s been afraid of squirrels ever since one “looked at her” while she was waiting for the bus in grade school. I don’t really get it, but apparently she’s not alone (unless she moved away from Wisconsin and is living near your condo).
I thought about letting this slip, but I have to tell you something. The little kid was a girl. She had braids. And pink bow ties. It was very obvious.
Just thought you should know.
Oh, and why didn’t you tell everyone how awesome that baby squirrel was? He was dancing with some guy after the aforementioned event took place. Coolest. squirrel. evar. I’ve decided to adopt him and when you come home tonight you are going to find us chillin’ on the couch watching TV. We’re cool like that.
guess you have never seen a squirrel in the house…
the move fast without any logic that you or I could anticipate
haven’t you seen Over the Hedge?
